ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum is often critical of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh – mostly because he doesn’t think the Wolverines head man has done enough to warrant his hype. This week, he took things to a new level.Finebaum joined The Roundtable on JOX on Monday and was asked about the state of Michigan’s program. He said that he thinks Michigan has “waved the white flag” when it comes to how it compares to Ohio State.“I was in New York the other day and a Michigan fan grabbed me and said ‘why do you hate Jim Harbaugh?’ I don’t hate Jim Harbaugh at all, I just think Michigan fans ought to quit being so milk toast about the guy and if he can’t beat Ohio State in five tries I’d like to know why you Michiganders still believe it him. He said ‘well, we just don’t really think we can do any better.’Michigan has waved the white flag. Michigan has surrendered and has simply admitted ‘we’re not as good as Ohio State, we’re not the Michigan of the past. We’re just a good program that occasionally has a year like last year and then chokes the biggest game of the year and then gets run by an ascending team in Florida in a bowl game.” Somehow, we imagine that Harbaugh does not agree with Finebaum’s opinion.Michigan, under Harbaugh, has an 0-4 record against Ohio State – though all of those losses came when Urban Meyer was the coach. With Ryan Day now in charge, it’ll be interesting to see if the streak continues. This year’s contest will take place on November 30 – presumably at Noon ET.
