first_imgSamsung is holding an event today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where it is expected to announce a brand new Galaxy A smartphone. This comes not long after the Galaxy A7 (2018) which caught everyone’s attention for being the first Samsung phone with a triple camera system. And if rumours and leaks are true, Samsung is planning to top this with the Galaxy A9 today that is said to come with four cameras on the back, which would make it the first phone in the world to bring this feature.Samsung has been focussing its efforts on its Galaxy A series a lot in recent months as rye company hopes to take on a pretty competitive mid-range segment with brands like OnePlus and Asus and Pocophone to name a few. The event will be livestreamed and you can catch the announcement live via Samsung’s official site starting 2.30pm IST.We have been hearing a lot about the Galaxy A9 off late and its quad camera system but detail regarding the configuration has been a little hazy. That is until yesterday when noted tipster Evan Blass leaked information on all the sensors on board. As per the press render, the four cameras on the back will include a 24MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra wide angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, a 10MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 5MP depth sensor. If we disregard the telephoto lens, the other three cameras are similar to what you get on the Galaxy A7 (2018). All four cameras on the Galaxy A9 will be vertically stacked on the top left corner.advertisementWhile Blass tweeted about the cameras, another noted tipster Roland Quandt from gave some insight into the overall design and hardware. Press renders show the Galaxy A9 will come with a glass panel on the back with a gradient colour scheme in Pink and Blue colour options. There will also be a black colour option as well.ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy A7 triple cameras: Wide-angle lens sees allThe Galaxy A9 will reportedly sport a 6.3-inch FHD+ (1080×2160) Super AMOLED display with the Always-On feature.
