Thieves steal wheels from cars at Salt Lake


first_imgKolkata: A few miscreants stole car wheels on Wednesday night from AE block in Salt Lake. On Thursday morning, when owners of the cars noticed the theft they informed police.According to sources, two persons identified as Anand Todi and Gourav Dutta resided at AE 79 and AE 114, respectively. They usually parked their cars on the road inside the block in front of their houses. Like other days, Todi and Dutta parked their cars and went inside their homes on Wednesday night. But before sitting on the car, Dutta was stunned to see that all four car wheels were removed and bricks were placed in place of the wheels. In a few metres, from his house Todi also experienced same kind of thing. Following the thefts came to notice, Bidhannagar North police station was informed. According to sources, a case has been registered and probe is on to nab the culprits. However, as there is no CCTV camera inside the block, police are facing difficulties to probe the case. A few such cases had happened in 2013 when thieves stole car wheels and some other parts by of for-wheelers by breaking window glasses. Several persons were arrested then and a lot of the stolen parts of cars were recovered.last_img
